December 30 & 31, 2017 - At this time of year, it is typical for a church to take a look ahead and lay out a vision for the next year. Well, at Chesapeake Church, we are "looking forward" to the upcoming year. We are excited about where God will be leading us in the coming months. Join us as, together, we discern God's vision for us in 2018 and beyond.
December 16 & 17 - In Luke 14:16-24, Jesus tells one of His most compelling parables. A man throws a banquet but none of his invited guests will come. So, he orders his servants to go “into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.” As we invite our guests to our Christmas services this year, our challenge is to invite the unexpected guests. The Jesus kinda people we’ve been praying for. The banquet is for them.
December 9 & 10 - Everyone wants to go to Heaven even as we live like Hell. We talk about what happens when we die, but it’s really what happens after we die that matters. With the death rate still hovering at 100%, isn’t it time some of us finally come to terms with the one thing in life that is inevitable: death?
December 2 & 3 - We get one life. It’s shorter every day. How often do we look back wishing we could do that day over? Christ wants to save us from a scrapbook of regret. Instead, He promises that every day, any day can matter when it is devoted to His Kingdom. This week we’ll see how true that is.
