March 30 & 31, 2019 - As Paul and then other disciples continued preaching the Gospel many people were won over to Christ. In particular, those who followed the occults. As they left their cults and sects, they discarded their incantation books and stopped buying trinkets and shrines from the metal makers. This not only hurt the pagan religions, it was bad for business. Jesus is always bad for business. Are we ready for the changes – real bad for business changes – that the Holy Spirit will bring into our lives?
March 23 & 24, 2019 - In the town of Samaria, Philip was teaching with such authority that a famous and powerful sorcerer named Simon came to faith in Jesus Christ. Simon followed devotedly --- until he noticed that some were being baptized in the Holy Spirit. Simon offered them money so he too could lay hands and give such power. Jesus promised His disciples that once they received the Holy Spirit they would have such power - the power to witness the Gospel to the ends of the earth. This week we learn Who the Holy Spirit is and what it means to receive Him.
